"We had people smoking downstairs but the minute we told the front desk it was stopped immediately. I am glad this hotel is taking action. The maid service is the best ever! The rooms are spotless! Also, they are very courteous, always smiling! We loved the trails and we love the wildlife here and enjoyed seeing the two wonderful cats! I like to be able to go down and get a cup of coffee from the office whenever I wanted and I loved to sit under the umbrellas outside or in the lobby area watching the beautiful fish. Great Job!!!"

"We love Fort Bragg and our favorite place to stay is Beachcomber's rooms 205-218. At one time we could walk down to the beach and back to the motel. But at 81 & 83, we could probably get down but not back up the hill (Ha). So now we sit on the deck and watch the waves, but the chairs are too short -- we cannot see over the railing or the railing is too high. Whatever you can do would be a great improvement."

Specifically, the "continental breakfast" was just perfect for us...delicious coffee with real sugar and half & half, an assortment of Danish pastry, and two fruit juices. Our room was comfortable, and although we complained of not having air-conditioning we soon realized, as suggested by your staff, that opening the sliding glass door and the windows provided enough cool air and ventilation to make the room very livable. Further, both the toiletries and the bath linen were exceedingly acceptable, but the greatest amenity of all that you provided was the shower. I have to admit that yours is the best shower I've ever had in all of the 29 countries in the world that I've visited, as well as in my own home...immediate hot water and a full, strong current of water. Thank you, again, for a very relaxing and comfortable stay with you. Hopefully, we'll return many more times."

"I've traveled to Fort Bragg, CA for decades. The main place I've stayed through the years has been the Beachcomber Motel on Highway 1. I started going to the Beachcomber with my family when I was in high school about 45 years ago. After I married, my wife and I also traveled to Fort Bragg for vacations and weekends at the Beachcomber. After we had children they too spent vacations in Fort Bragg. We camped occasionally when the children were small and noisy, because that's what the kids enjoyed. They liked the campfires blazing while everyone roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. But we mostly enjoyed the clean, relaxing time and that was when we would go to the Beachcomber. The main highlight of the Beachcomber Motel is its location right on the beach. It's just a short walk and climb down to the Pacific's waves. We have watched the changes and growth of the Beachcomber through the years. We have enjoyed meeting and visiting with people from different parts of the country. Many have found their way to Fort Bragg's Beachcomber Motel. I would recommend the Beachcomber Motel to anyone and everyone."

"I loved staying at the Beachcomber. I traveled to Fort Bragg by myself, I felt very safe. This was one of my best vacations ever. It is a very quiet, peaceful place to stay. The walking path outside was fabulous, it was 10 miles long although I never made it the whole way. I can"t wait to go back. The hotel staff is friendly. I have stayed in some expensive hotels but the mattresses were not as comfortable as those here."

"Having a wedding in Fort Bragg in the end of March ...we decided on the Beachcomber because the view was absolutely unmatched, and because when we explained what we were hoping to find and how important our choice would be, the host at the desk was more accomodating than any of the other places we visited. He was patient and understanding to our wants and needs, and even let us see each room we might be interested in. We later called and made the reservations and again we were treated as if our choice and happiness was as important to them as it was to us. Three times before our arrival, we had to change some of the rooms around. It was never a problem. Upon our arrival, I had made a list of guests coming for each room and simply handed it to the desk clerk who checked in each party as they arrived without a glitch. Our rooms were wonderful, and the staff continued to be very efficient. All of the rooms were neat and clean and had the gorgeous views. We watched whales from our balcony! When my new husband and I returned late that night, our room was spotless. They had even straightened the vanity and picked clothes up that were left on the floor. . We went to sleep listening to the waves crash on the beach outside. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. We plan to go back for a delayed honeymoon that we didn't get the chance to have."

"Beach motels and hotels usually scare me....sight unseen but, not this one. What a delight! We had the 2 room, 3 Queen suite with jack and jill bathroom, fireplace, balcony and beautiful views. There are walking/cycling paths and they take pets and even give you a "pet towel"! We're fairly picky but we would have no problem staying here again!"

"This was a cute, small, quaint motel with a homey-like atmosphere. It was very clean with the rooms looking newly furnished, clean carpet, nice beds. Even though it was on the main drag, it was very quiet - not too much night traffic. You could walk out on your patio or along the walkway and get right down to the ocean. It was so magnificent! I absolutely would stay again."

"We stayed at the Beachcomber last summer for 3 nights. Our room was very nice. Two queens and kitchen. We had a balcony on the beach. We really enjoyed the sea breezes blowing in! Our reservation was not made ahead of time, we just called when we got tot the area to check availability. The staff was really nice. The room was very clean. I never worried about germs. Beds were comfortable. I liked the way the hotel was set up. It had several individual buildings with 6 rooms and it was like walking to your condo, instead of a long row of rooms. "

We had a wonderful time exploring the inlets behind the motel and taking photos up and down the coast. As a matter of fact, I proposed to my girlfriend adjacent the ocean and she is now my fiance!
