Fort Bragg Marine now offers the only kayak rentals on the Noyo River. Kayaks can be launched directly into the Noyo River from their docks or taken by you to the location of your choice. $40/day single kayak, and $50/day double kayak. Available beginning at 1pm. They also have half day rates! They are also offering abalone diving gear, salmon and bottom fishing gear, snacks, drinks, sushi prepared by Taka's Grill and much more! Bird Walks at MacKerricher

Again, for bird lovers! State park volunteers are welcome to join David Jensen for a bird walk at MacKerricher State Park on Saturday morning, July 21st. Meet him at 9 a.m. in the Lake Cleone parking lot to join this walk around the lake. Early risers are welcome to meet at 7:30 p.m., for a special "birding by ear" session. This month they will pay special attention to young birds that have left the nest as well as to the adult shore-birds that have started to return from their breeding grounds up north. Binoculars will be available for those who need them. Wear comfortable shoes and warm layers. Heavy rain cancels. MacKericher State Park is located three miles north of Fort Bragg. Future walks: Aug. 18th, Sept. 15th, Oct. 20th.

Free Summer Lunches for Children

Free lunches are available to children under age 18 at Redwood Elementary, 324 S. Lincoln St., Monday - Friday on June 25 through July 27. Hours are 11am-11:30am.
