Going Green!
Gaby, Beachcomber Staff
Going green is a special section of the Advocate News & The
Mendocino Beacon. It will give you great pointers on healthy
alternatives, environmentally safe substitutes, recycle tips, energy
savers, and more! We all agree that hearing about global warming,
overfishising the world's oceans, deforestation...etc are all subjects
that are VERY OVERWHELMING!! Almost every decision you make every day
has an impact on the planet. Pick up a copy of the local paper, and
take a look at the "Going Green" section. Their goal is to "put a little bit
of information-and lots of inspiration-into your hands!!"

Troubador David Rovics April 18
Beachcomber Staff
David Rovics has been called the musical voice of the
progressive movement. Amy Goodman entitled him "the musical version
of Democracy Now!" and Cindy Sheehan called David "the peace poet and
troubador for our time." Since the mid-90's Rovics has spent most of
his time on the road, playing hundreds of shows every year throughout
North America, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. More
importantly, he's really good. He will make you laugh, he will make
you cry, and he will make the revolution irresistible.
David Rovics makes his return visit to the Caspar Community
Center on April 18th at 7pm. Admission is $10 with a sliding scale.

"Marigolds" play at The Mendocino Theatre Company
Beachcomber Staff
The Mendocino Theatre Company presents Paul Zindel's Pulitzer
Prize and Obie Award winning drama, The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-
in-the-Moon Marigolds, opening April 12 and running for five weeks
through May 13. Directed by Bob Cohen (thirty year veteran actor &
director with MTC), this critically acclaimed play is loosely based
on the author's experience growing up in a single parent household.
Bob, who has directed plays by Arthur Miller, William Inge, A.R.
Gurney and other great playwrights, believes that the writing quality
of Marigolds is among the best he has ever been privileged to work
with. “There are scenes that will tear your heart out, they are so
beautiful.” The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds is
proof that beauty can be found even in the most troubled of families. For
