Worlds Largest Salmon BBQ

The World's Largest Salmon BBQ is Sat. July 1st from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm in south Noyo Harbor. To get there, you take South Harbor Dr. off hwy 20. Parking is at College of the Redwoods. There will be a shuttle bus from Ocean Dr. to the event. Also there is a Craft Fair on Sat 10:00- 4:00 and Sunday 11:00-4:00 at the Crown hall in Mendocino 45285 Ukiah st.

Fireworks!

Please Note: at the fireworks, ALL dogs must be on leashes. They will not allow unleashed dogs on the old mill site. (G.P). Remember to bring a jacket and bundle up the kids! If you don't feel like dealing with the crowds, you can also view the fireworks from glass beach.

Also please be aware that local law enforcement will be out at checkpoints Friday, Sat and Sun night. They are checking for dui's and seat belts.

Holiday Weekend

With The 4th of July weekend around the corner, we are looking forward to seeing all of our friends return to the coast for holiday festivities. Please see last week's blog entry, below, for more information about The Salmon BBQ and fireworks. Please visit the Chamber of Commerce Calendar for all July events.

Our local MCDH Hospital just held its 35th Birthday Celebration! Free health screenings were provided, along with food, live music and games. Congratulations to MCDH, happy birthday and many healthy returns!

Pomo Bluffs Park

Our recently opened Pomo Bluffs Park, dedicted to Northern California Pomo Indians, has been a wonderful new visiting place for coastal visitors and residents. To visit the park, turn west at Todd's Point and follow the road along the ocean.

Many abalone divers have been heading for the coastal waters recently. With Ab season in full swing, the recent "minus tides" have been an added bonus for divers. And the result is oh so delicious!

Upcoming 4th of July Events

Sat July 1st at dusk, GP mill site will be open for parking, however Todds Point/ Pomo Bluffs WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE ENTIRE DAY (because of the new plants that they have just planted).

Don't bring fireworks - the city ordinance will be enforced against personal fireworks. The Cypress Street GP entrance will open at 6:30pm, the fireworks will start about 9:40pm. The Noyo Bridge will be open to pedestrian traffic only! Another fireworks viewing area will be open, south of Emerald Dolphin Inn, at Hwy 1 and Ocean View Dr.

If you go to the salmon bbq, you will get a map and fireworks display flyer. More Money was raised, Hence BIGGER SHOW!!! See you there!
